Asian IP-VPN market set for dramatic growth (4/3/01) Asia-Pacific demand for IP-based Virtual Private Net-works (VPN) will grow steeply from its current level, according to Grace Yeo, senior analyst of telecom research at International Data Corp. (IDC).
IP-VPN Market Forecast (10/1/02) IDC reports that the total IP VPN market will explode from $5.4 billion in 2001 to nearly $14.7 billion in 2006. Furthermore, IDC claims that the IP VPN market forecasts for 2000 and 2001 were shifted down due to an overall economic slowdown. The economic slowdown will continue to dampen the growth in the IP VPN market until after 2002 when we can expect a rapid IP VPN market expansion. Midrange VPN Market (5/23/01) WatchGuard Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: WGRD) a leader in Internet security solutions, today announced it continues to maintain its revenue market share leadership in the mid-range VPN hardware market. According to the May 2001 Infonetics report, "VPN Hardware and Software," WatchGuard owned 24% of the market in Q1 2001, earning the top spot as the #1 revenue-generating mid-range VPN hardware and up 4% from 2000.
