VPN? ---------- Hello, I am
running Windows 98se on
an Hewlett and Packard
Pavillion. I have run
fdisk and deleted the
primary and there were no
secondary partitions.
I then freshly formatted
and installed my OS. I
have a Realtek RTL(8029)
Ethernet adapter which is
connecting my BroadXent
Broadband Blaster. My
service provider is
AOL. I thought all
I needed was the ethernet
adapter to connect.
While looking in my
device manager I notice
that there is ALSO a
basic dial-up
adapter,another dial-up
adapter#2 for VPN
support, a Microsoft
Virtual Private
Networking Adapter AND a
WAN miniport ATW. Do I
really need ALL of
these???? Why do I have
a VPN if I didn't install
it? Where can I find out
it connects to, if it
conncts to anything at
all? Is there a way to
find what particular
service this VPN is for
and what computers it is
communicating with?
Thanks for any help, I'm
kinda new.
