Recommendations ---------- We are a medium sized 45
person business needing
to get an inexpensive
firewall with VPN
capabilities. For the
VPN we need to be able to
connect remote users
running Win2K and NT to
our LAN. Price is a big
issue. I've been looking
into FreeSwan, but I'm
afraid it may be too time
consuming to configure to
run with Windows Clients.
Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated. | phildom Member since: 2001-11-20 10:00:00 | posted: 2002-04-24 17:31:22 FreeSWAN to Microsoft ---------- Here is some
documentation on setting
up a FreeSWAN VPN router
to Microsoft Win2k and
WinXP
clients. http://vpn.eb

We can help! | kattfish Member since: 2002-04-23 23:23:32 | posted: 2002-05-10 22:29:17 Something Besides
Freeswan? ---------- Freeswan is a great tool,
however another choice
might be a little
NetScreen 5XP with an
unlimited user license.
You can get one from your
local vendor for about
$800.00, they're simple
to deploy, very robust
and provide excellent
firewall features. A
NetScreen is also
generally more
feature-rich (at least of
of the box) And also has
simple IDS
functionalities. Combine
that with the fact that
it's an ASIC and not a PC
sitting in your rack and
it could be an excellent
choice.
