need to know a little
about them. I have a
router that supports VPN.
Does that mean it has
the tunnel and encryption
needed for the VPN or is
there an actual service
that is required for the
VPN. Also, does the
computer connecting to
the server need any extra
software? | Deepali Member since: 2003-12-01 22:37:01 | posted: 2003-12-01 22:43:45 Reply ---------- Hi!
If your router
is enabled for VPN then
it will support all the
authentications and
encryptions used to
create VPN
tunnels.
If you
want to remotely login
into the LAN (with the
router connected to the
LAN) then you will need
a VPn software on your PC
to VPN into the router
like the Cisco VPN
software , Microsoft
PPTP.
Let me know
if you have any
queries.
