How do you network two computers using VPN?
----------
Me and my friend want to connect and we heard about VPN but we are not entirely sure on how to use it. We both have ME and I have a broadband connection and my friend has dial up (56K). We both are going to get our CCNA's soon so we know the terminology. So can you please give me instructions on how to network our computers.

Here you go...
----------
One of you will have to be the server. Probably you will want it to be you since you are the broadband connection. One of you will need an operating system or router that can serve VPN connections. Linux/W2K or WNT will work. Or, you can get a router that has built-in VPN functionality. After you get a server set up the client will need DUN v1.4 from microsoft if you are using a server that recieves MS-CHAP calls. If not then they will need the client specified for your server. After your friend gets the client software he needs to connect to your address with the client software and band you've got a VPN. Hope that helps.
