Is VPN aproppriate for me?
----------
Hi,

I'm interested in securing my computer but I don't know what I need to do it. I want to encrypt my websurfing and emailing etc, by using a program that works on my computer. Can I use VPN for this or should I use something else to do that?
Can someone recommend me some good VPN programs also, if it is appropriate?

Thank s.

VPN right for you.

If you are just securing one computer, you will not need a VPN. You are looking for a personal firewall. Check out the Downloads section of this site and look at the various free firewall programs available, try one out at a time and then if you like it you may want to get the pay version. Most of the free versions do all you need however.
good luck.

I already had zonealarm actually, but I have found a program, called JAP, that encrypts browsing.

Thanks for your help :)
