VPN and Starband
----------
After much deliberation, I finally broke down and got Starband satellite broadband - since there were no other high-speed alternatives where I live. Now I have realized that I can't use my Cisco VPN software to connect remotely to my office. Does anyone have suggestions on a fix for this? Or at least a workaround?

Starband VPN

I've heard of other people running into a similar problem with Satellite solutions. I think it has to do with the latency.
I'm not sure of the work around but I think it would be on the server side, resetting some of the default timeout settings.

Starband VPN
----------
I found this posting from Google Groups, so it is possible:
>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>
Question:Anybody successfully run a Cisco VPN 5000 client behind Winproxy over
SB? If so, I'd appreciate any details.

Response:
I successfully run Cisco VPN over StarBand. I had to reduce the MTU
on the ethernet on my workstation, which is pretty standard for VPN setup.

Note that you can't run VPN on the same machine which is running WinProxy
nor ICS, so if you want to run VPN and share the satellite access, you'll
have
to have at least two PCs. One runs Starband software, and ICS or WinProxy.
The other is your workstation, where you run VPN, which hangs off the
Starband PC.

Hope this helps,
