question, but I badly
need to find a solution.
I have a buggy VPN
provided by a local ISP,
which I use from my
university office to
access a server off
campus. The VPN
conflicts with both
Kerberos and Exchange
Server on my XP machine.
Everyone is passing the
buck as to what's the
problem. The university
says they know nothing,
the ISP says it's working
fine, and the server
owner just looks blank
and expects me to work it
out. Meantime, I've
corrupted MS Access files
on the server trying to
use them over the VPN.
That is, when I can bring
them up at
all.
For symptoms:
I run Kerberos for email
security, and Kerberos
and the VPN are vying to
see which can knock the
other one out of action.
If I try to start Outlook
while the VPN is running,
the computer can't see
the MS Exchange
server.
Am I the
only one to have such
problems? What are mere
mortals supposed to do
when VPNs don't behave as
expected? What questions
should I be asking? |
