VPN not assigning correct subnet mask
----------
Hey guys,

So I have a Windows XP Pro machine setup on my network and I have it to accept incoming connections for VPN. I have set up the appropriate ports on my router and on my firewall for VPN. I seem to be having some issues though. I have my father connect to my VPN from his house to my network (different locations) and it connects. He is asked the user name and password and I can see him connected on the VPN "server". the issue is that he can't remote into any of my other machines on my network. I think that I have traced it down to the fact that for some reason, my VPN server is giving him a subnet mask of 255.255.255.255 instead of 255.255.255.0. All of my other computers on my network all have the same subnet mask with a 0 as the last number set, yet his is being assigned as 255. I have tried a few different settings: I let the Incoming VPN Connection settings automatically assign IP and Subnet Mask addresses to all incoming connections. I have told it to use a certain IP range when assigning IP addresses. Unfortunately it doesn't allow me to assign an exact subnet mask or a range for the subnet mask. My ultimate goal is to connect to my network via VPN while I am away and then remote into one of my difference machines, depending on what I need. So via the tests, it appears that I can't remote into them because as of right now, the client machine can't "see" or detect the other machines on my network. Hopefully that makes sense.

Any help would be extremely helpful!! Thanks! :-)

Oh, and I can remote into any of the machines on either my LAN or via WAN, it works either way, just if I VPN first then try to connect to my machine via remote, it doesn't work. Thanks!!! :-)

P.S. My father's machine, the client that we are testing everything on, is a Vista machine and my VPN server is an XP Pro machine. Both are x86.
