problem ---------- First of all i would like
to say hello to all of
you because this is my
first time here. Now,
i have a small network at
home with 3WINXP and 1
WINME through a Linksys
BEFSR41. Network is
working flawlessly.
Sharing files and
printers works great and
all computers connect to
the internet through a
cable modem attached to
the Linksys. Since
everything is working
great i thought i'd try a
VPN set-up because i know
WINXP can act as VPN
server but limited to
only 1 client which is
perfect for me. I used
one of my WINXP machine
to be the VPN server and
is working as it should.
I tested the connection
using my laptop running
WINXP to connect to the
VPN server using dial-up
through AOL. I could
connect and log on to the
VPN server and i could
access the shred printer
and drives but here's the
problem, the only
computer i can access on
the LAN is the VPN
server, if i try to
access another machine it
gives a message saying
that i am not authorized
to access the machine and
the network drive is
unaccessible.
I've
been fighting with this
problem for days now and
it is frustrating. Can
somebody shed some light
on my situation. Did
anybody encounter this
problem before and was
able to solve it? Thanks | EuroFrank Member since: 2002-02-27 12:32:12 | posted: 2002-02-27 12:36:41 Maybe ---------- First of all I'm not an
expert at all
:)
Anyway, are
your XP server an home
edition or pro
edition? I read that
the home edition cannot
act as a router for VPN
protocols. I hope it
can be
useful.
Bye,
