sharing ---------- ok I did a small mock
setup using vpn with my
computer and the office
computer I could access
the office computer all
files in the shared
folders when I tried to
connect from the office
to the home computer (
within the same
connection) I didnt get
any response even though
I could walk 400 feet to
the house and browse the
office comp all I wanted
my question is why cant I
get files from the home
comp but unable to see
the home comp from the
office while they ARE
connected and file
sharing is enabled on
both? ie sharing drive C.
no routers nothing like
that this was just a
test. the office comp was
set up as the NAS-the
home comp was set up as a
pptp client can the
server not connect to a
client without a router?
am I missing a setting?
running winXP on both
machines. thanks for
listening to my rambling
any help is
appreciated Dave
